Biography of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence written by Robert Waln Jr. and Published by R.W. Pomeroy in 1827.

This set was the property of Michael Warner Hewes, (the relative of North Carolina native and Wilmington, NC shipping maganateJoseph Hewes who signed The Declaration of Independence) and is autographed by him to the ffep of Volume VII (H). Hewes was one of the most famous signers of the Declaration of Independence for North Carolina, along with William Hooper and John Penn.

Also included in this set is a newspaper clipping from The Baltimore Sun with and article “North Carolina to honor memory of Joseph Hewes”.

This rare nine volume set covers all signers of the American Declaration of Independence.

The bill features central vignette of  Confederate President Jefferson Davis. Back is blue. Hand signed and numbered by Confederate officials for Register and for Treasurer.
